Austin, Minnesota - June 15, 2010

Leaving Wisconsin was a bittersweet farewell. After seeing Ernie's family there we talked about how nice it would have been to stay longer near them. However, we have plans arranged and they have their daily lives to keep busy with.
We crossed the Mississippi River at LaCrosse, Wisconsin and stopped at a riverside rest/welcome area for a break.
In the parking lot we met a couple who make a living by transporting camper trailers from the Elkhart Indiana manufacturers across the country to buyers. He told us about the border crossing procedures, especially strict when returning to the lower 48 states.
Last night we pulled into the KOA at 4:50 PM and set up the jacks without unhitching from the truck. The KOA staff said it had rained everyday here for the last seven. There are puddles and mud to hop around but the weather is going to improve shortly.
Today we have a longer drive across on I-90 to Murdo, South Dakota. Ernie has planned several rest stops and a tourist stop at Mitchell, SD. There is a building there called "The Corn Palace". Photos below are from Mitchell, SD.
