Mt. Rushmore - Part 2

The wind was very strong and as we got out of our van we had to hang onto the doors so they wouldn't slam open. Ernie and I tightened our hats on our heads as the gusts whipped around. We had put Ernie's camera and my camcorder on tripods to help steady our shots, Donna had a camera without a tripod.
The walkway to the main viewing area in lined with pillers that hold four state flags each and have the state name and date of entry in the Union carved in the granite.
At every point people would stop and take pictures of the Memorial and their families in front of the statues. Donna chatted with a woman at the wall about visiting Mt. Rushmore and how exciting it was. Donna took a picture of the woman, Gail, and her husband with the Faces on the mountain in the background and then Gail did the same for us.
