The Badlands Part 3

After viewing the Badlands from the high location we started on the road down to the base, it wound back and forth with sharp turns. Then I looked at the map, looked at the time and said we should go back up and drive along the rim. OK. We went back up, only about a mile or less and then turned on a side dirt road, with viewings areas of the Badlands. Soon we saw prairie dogs at their holes, standing up looking at us. Many,many prairie dogs. A sign near the entrance stated: Prairie dogs have the plauge. OK, we'll keep our distance, but Kay was so thrilled to see them I thought she would jump out and bring one back to the van.
